Warm red earthenware reveals itself beneath the milky, semi–translucent glaze of this lidded vase with a turquoise blooms motif. Laeuger used a glazing technique that allowed the glaze to bleed and drip alongside the surface of the piece, creating a primitivistic visual effect. Note also the female figure sitting atop the lid, which adds a sense of uniqueness to the piece.
