This work produced by the Manufacture Nationale de Sevres around the year 1900 takes the exaggerated form of a baluster vase, composed of a low round body culminating in an elongated and flared neck. This neck features an unusual raised band around its middle, and a gold glazed rim. The rest of the piece has been glazed in a palette of a dark burgundy red and a bright, striking blue for which the piece has been named. The widest part of the vase also features streaks of a lighter orange-red glaze.
