Lenoble’s Low Bowl, named for its short and wide silhouette, is constructed of a stoneware bowl decorated with a bright green but almost translucent enamel. An imprecise but regular circular motif has been incised into this material, brown lines forming the shapes of flowers. Lenoble’s skilled incised design as exemplified in this piece probably resulted from his early experience working with faience.
