This bottle form vase, though simple in its basic structure, contains the representation of a sculptural vine heavy with large eggplant forms, and thus exemplifies the inclusion of organic forms in Art Nouveau pottery. The vine, with its twirling stems, hanging fruit, and crumpled leaves, winds around the body of the vase in a highly dimensional way. The vase itself is glazed in white, but includes spots of a darker glaze on raised areas, as if the color has been rubbed away.
