Upon a serene porcelain vase, a serendipitous pattern of ivory and blue crystalline regions suggests continents and islands adrift in the seven seas. The traditional baluster form, pristine in its simplicity, adds dimension to the decoration without distracting the eye. The Sèvres factory was among the pioneers of the crystallized glaze, introducing it as early as 1897. Marked Sèvres DN (pate dure nouvelle) within an oblong, 1923.
