Lives and works in Saratoga Springs, NY

Noah Greene is a ceramic artist specializing in three-dimensional ceramic paintings, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to a French mother and an American, Jewish father. Raised in a multicultural and bilingual household his initial struggles with language and communication led him to find solace in the Arts. He has since gone on to complete a BFA with Honors in Ceramics and Glass from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel and recently completed a MFA in Ceramics from Alfred University in Alfred, NY. He is currently an Artist-in-Resident at the Saratoga Clay Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Noah explores the integration of painting and clay to create work based in Queer Theory and Identity. Drawing upon his understanding of clay, wood, textiles and modern technologies, Greene builds large-scale paintings that represent scenes and portraits that refer back to his own experiences as a queer individual in today’s society.  As a transgender, gay man, Greene pulls on his knowledge and personal experiences to help further a discourse between the viewer and himself in the hopes of creating a more compassionate, fact driven conversation about the intersectionality of queer bodies, mental health, community and culture.
