This Dalpayrat vase is rendered in a unique shade of royal purple glaze, and this rich background is complemented by winding lines of gold and large areas of bright blue. The shape of the vase is particularly interesting, as it consists of two wide areas separated by a narrow intermediary, forming almost an hourglass shape. The top of the vase narrows to form a small neck topped with the same gold found toward the bottom of the piece.
