This visually fascinating box in the shape of a chest combines a variety of motifs and media, creating a harmonious ensemble. All four visible sides of the box are covered in repousse copper panels, which incorporate a large number of colorful, circular cabochons. Each panel seems to bear a specific theme, as illustrated through the figures depicted at their center. Dragons, unidentified creatures with lion heads, and an imaginary ship with an eye on its sail, constitute some of these motifs. The box as a whole bears a sense of mystery and seems to hold magical properties. A key is actually required to open it.
