Three grand peacock plumes are carved along the sides of this tall sensual vessel. The sumptuous colors of the layered glazes were achieved thanks to the dense stoneware body, whose resilience to high temperatures allowed for multiple firings. The purplish color palette is unique to the Lachenal studio, and is employed here with great flair and mastery.
