Dating to around 1980, this Karl Scheid vase appropriately takes the shape of a flat, natural pebble, its edges rounded and smoothed. This organic shape has been glazed in a palette of corresponding earth tones, a brown and burgundy background layered with areas of lighter tan glaze, especially near the edges of the form. The small rim of the vase has been similarly colored with this lighter glaze.
