With ivory and golden glazes revealing relief-carved ribs and veins beneath the surface, this vessel appears to be a cluster of lily pads unfurling from the base. Several major veins rise above the surface on each side to form organic handles. In its interpretation of natural forms and emphasis on the process of growth, the Lily Pads vase is a fine demonstration of recognizable Art Nouveau themes.

Marks: Amphora in an oval and RStK cipher impressed in clay.
