Perrot possibly completed this piece by 1907, the year where he became an independant ceramist after years of apprenticeship with Georges Hoentschel. This vase is quite unique in terms of shape. Perrot has produced very few ceramics whose composition is similar to this one. However, Perrot used a palette of colors that exemplifies his ceramics production during that period - an overlay of yellowish, brown, and darker glazes. This vase was produced at the height of Perrot's career, between the years 1907 and 1912.
